LIVE AT THE PALAIS

I was surfing the internet one night at work a couple of months ago. Being in my Monkee/Michael Nesmith phase at the time, I typed in Michael Nesmith's name under video on google, pressed the search button, and up popped this video. This is a tv ad for Michael Nesmith's 1977 album, Live At The Palais. I found this commercial humorous, because it is a spoof of the super kitchen utensil commercials that I remember watching on tv as a little kid. These commercials use to air on weekday afternoons during cartoons, and on Saturday afternoons during Kung Fu Theater in the late 70's and early 80's. I can remember watching these commercials as a kid and thinking, "Wow, that knife can do all of that and still cut tomatoes?" and "Man, you can get all of this for just 19.95?" I also like this ad because to me it showcases Michael Nesmith's sense of humor, in which I truly enjoyed while watching the Monkees, and in later years watching Micheal Nesmith's Television Parts.
